Above is the invitation cover created by Zane DeGaine for the 9th annual Easter Sunday Brunch. Pegasus is proud to continue our tradition of asking student artists from the valley's various public High Schools to compete for a cash prize by creating a piece of original art for our invitations. Our thanks to Cathedral City High School teacher, Madelyn Haas, for coordinating this contest and delivering many outstanding entries.

Footnote: Zane graduated from Cathedral City High School in the spring of 2004. He is working to save money to attend the Joe Kubert School.

About The Artist:

"My name is Zane DeGaine. I am currently attending Cathedral City High School and am nearing the end of my senior year. I have been drawing since I was four years old and since I was in first grade I have aspired to become a comic book artist. To reach this goal I plan on attending the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey. Unfortunately, I cannot afford it on my own."

 "Art has always been a passion of mine, whether it's visual or musical. I have taken Art I-IV, a semester of Contemporary Media in the animation portions, and Photography II. I plan on attending the Joe Kubert School in the Fall of 2004. After attending the school and instructed by comic book industry professionals Joe, Adam, and Andy Kubert, I hope to find employment in a field I do not define as work, but a life's dream. If I couldn't draw, I do not know what I would do."
